How the Venture Studio Delivers Value for Farmers

Drought has always been a challenge for Australian farmers, and a changing climate means that droughts are likely to become more frequent, more intense, and last longer than ever before.

Australia has built a world-class agriculture sector in the driest-inhabited continent. We already invest heavily into the knowledge and R&D of drought and climate-resilient agriculture.

The challenge, however, is the low rate at which intellectual property (IP) and research is successfully commercialised and turned into products and services that end up in the hands of farmers.

The Drought Venture Studio is working with agricultural leaders – farmers, producers, agribusinesses - to identify specific drought-related challenges for which more solutions are desperately needed.

Following this consultation, our expert team will scout for the most relevant IP within Australia universities and research institutes and apply a rigorous methodology for rapidly turning that knowledge into products that can have real impact on Australian farms.

To contribute your drought related challenges, please contact your industry group or the Beanstalk team today.

Applications for the next Drought Challenge are now open until 29th September 9PM (AEST).
